Jackie Glazier

February 19, 11:30 a.m., The Arizona Senior Academy Building

“Legends” explores pieces inspired by legendary figures, cartoons, and Chinese mythology. U. of A. Fred Fox School of Music clarinetist, Dr. Jackie Glazier, an ASA favorite, will be joined by her acclaimed colleagues: Belgium-based saxophonist, Don-Paul Kahl and Florida-based pianist Galen Dean Peiskee Jr.

Jackie Glazier and her frequent collaborator in the ensemble “Duo Entre-Nous,” Don-Paul Kahl, performed in concert at the Arizona Senior Academy in the fall of 2018, featuring new music that they premiered in Europe in 2018. The Arizona Senior Academy is delighted to have them visit again along with their colleague on piano, Galen Dean Peiskee, who recently completed his Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University.  “Legends” promises to be both unique and entertaining.

An Assistant Professor of Clarinet at the University of Arizona since 2016, Jackie Glazier has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the U.S. and in Mexico, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Croatia, as well as Carnegie Hall. She is principal clarinet of the Grammy Award-nominated True Concord Voices, a local Tucson Organization. She gives frequent master classes and has received numerous awards and prizes, such as first prize in the International Clarinet Association Orchestral Competition at ClarinetFest in 2014.
