The Arizona Senior Academy kicks off the musical New Year with the return of Ryanhood, the dynamic singing/songwriting duo that plays some of the best acoustic folk rock music in town. You won’t want to miss their ASA show on Tuesday {Jan. 3) at 11:30 a.m.

Ryanhood, consisting of Ryan Green and Cameron Hood, has won praise wherever the duo performs. Cameron’s rich and folky lead vocals, Ryan’s explosive guitar and mandolin riffs, and their airtight vocal harmonies prompted the Arizona Daily Star to call them, “a match made in radio heaven.”

Named ‘Best Group/Duo’ in the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA’s), Ryanhood got its first break more than a decade ago as a street performance duo at Boston’s Quincy Market.  The two were spotted there by a college booking agent and thrust into the college touring scene, where Campus Activities Magazine would name them “one of the most requested acts by college buyers all across the country.”

They have since gone on to perform more than 800 shows in 42 states, where their cross-generational sound has been equally at home in colleges, coffee-houses, concert halls, and living rooms.

Ryanhood currently is based here in Tucson, and has won more than a dozen Tucson Music Awards including “Best Folk Band” and “Best Rock Band.” With five albums to their credit, they will release a new album in February, and have been announced as local headliners for the 2017 Tucson Folk Festival.
