Nov 3, 3 – 4 p.m., Arizona Senior Academy Great Room
The Arizona Senior Academy is pleased to present the Vail Chorale’s Fall 2018 Concert on Saturday November 3rd at 3:00pm in the Henry and Phyllis Koffler Great Room.
The Fall Concert theme is “Music of the ‘40’s” with modern jazzy arrangements of well-known tunes such as “Taking a Chance on Love,” “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “As Time Goes By,” “It Had to be You,” “At Last,” and “God Bless America.” Also on the program is “What a Wonderful World” which comes from the 1960’s. Made popular by Louis Armstrong, his rendition of the song captured the style and spirit of the ‘40’s.
Performing Fall and Spring concerts since 2011, the Vail Chorale has entertained ASA audiences who frequently comment that the enthusiasm of the singers is contagious. The Chorale remains a non-auditioned intergenerational community chorus, providing music-making camaraderie for those who enjoy singing in harmony. The Chorale’s leadership team consists of Brianna Petty, now in her second year as music director, Melissa Hale, assistant director, and accompanist Shantell Funckes.
Originally founded by ASA member Fritz Reinagel, who has since relocated out of state, the Vail Chorale is jointly sponsored by the Arizona Senior Academy and the Vail School District. Over the years, the Chorale has developed into a cultural institution for the Greater Vail Area, participating in local events such as the Chamber of Commerce Vail Fest, Colossal Cave Mountain Park’s Neighbors Event, the Vail School District All Staff Event, and the University of Arizona’s Tucson Festival of Books.
Be sure to come to the Fall 2018 Concert for an afternoon of sheer musical pleasure! For more information, see www.thevailchorale.org, or contact email@example.com.
